Musty means microbial growth, and it means the pad or subfloor is likely still holding moisture. Wet cleaning adds water to a moisture problem.

The honest limit

This may be a mitigation job rather than a cleaning job. If the pad is compromised, cleaning it is not the answer and we'll say so.
