Why the common fix backfires

Grout sits below the tile surface. A mop rides across the tile and pushes dirty water into the low grout line, so every mop deposits more soil exactly where you're trying to clean.

The honest limit

Grout is porous. Once soil is absorbed below the surface it needs pressure and extraction to come out.
