Area Rug Cleaning in Lodi, CA
Here is the part of this the trade avoids saying: if your rug is genuinely valuable, it belongs in a wash plant, not on a driveway. What we do well is everyday rugs, cleaned on a hard surface where the moisture can leave. Fibre and dye get tested before any water goes on, and we will tell you if your rug should go somewhere else.
The conversation nobody has with you
A valuable rug — wool, hand-knotted, antique, anything you spent serious money on — should go to a professional rug-washing facility. Full submersion, controlled drying, a centrifuge. Those do things for a rug that on-site cleaning cannot.
Here is what actually gets sold instead. A company advertises rug pickup, collects your rug, and takes it to their own garage, where it gets cleaned exactly the way it would have been cleaned at your house. You paid for a plant and got a garage.
If your rug is in that category we will say so and tell you to take it elsewhere, rather than take the job.
Where the rug gets cleaned
This part is not flexible. A driveway, a garage floor, tile or LVP — surfaces that shed moisture.
Never over carpet, because the padding underneath will not dry and mildew grows in it. Never over wood or laminate.
Fibre and dye come first
Wool behaves differently from synthetic. Some dyes bleed. Some fringes are cotton and will yellow or wick. All of that gets tested in an inconspicuous spot before anything wet goes on the rug, and anything we are unsure about we tell you about first.
What we need ready
The rug out and in place — in the garage or on the driveway — before we arrive, and power we can reach for the counter-rotating brush.
We do not move furniture, lift couches or take sectionals apart to get to a rug underneath.
Drying
Longer than carpet, and it depends on the pile. A rug needs to dry fully before it goes back down, and putting a damp rug back on a floor is how you end up with a problem in the floor as well as the rug.

Frequently asked questions
Should my expensive rug go to a plant instead?
If it is genuinely valuable, yes — and we would rather say so than take the job. Full submersion and a centrifuge do things for a rug that on-site cleaning cannot.
Where do you clean the rug?
On a driveway, a garage floor, tile or LVP. Never over carpet, because the padding underneath cannot dry.
Will the colours run?
We test for it before we start. If a dye is unstable we will tell you before anything gets wet rather than after.
What about the fringe?
Fringe is usually cotton and it behaves differently from the rug. It can yellow or wick. We handle it separately and we will tell you what to expect.
What do I need ready before you arrive?
The rug out and in place in the garage or on the driveway, and power we can reach.
