Mattress Cleaning in Lodi, CA

A mattress collects body oil and dry particulate for years, and both of them sit in the top few inches where you actually sleep. Cleaning extracts what is in that layer and then dries it out. It does not restore a worn mattress, and a mattress that has been soaked through is usually past the point of being worth treating.

What is actually in there

Body oil, night after night, going into the top layer of the surface. Dry particulate that works its way in from the room. Both of them accumulate in the same few inches, and neither leaves on its own.

A mattress protector helps, but most people either do not use one or have not washed the one they have in a long time.

What cleaning does

Dry soil comes out first. Then extraction pulls the oils and what is bound to them out of the top layer, and the mattress gets dried properly before it goes back into service.

Drying matters more here than on almost any other surface. A mattress that goes back into use damp is a worse problem than the one you started with, so plan on it being out of commission for the day.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you this sanitises your mattress, kills anything, or does anything for allergies or asthma. Plenty of companies make those claims. We describe what the cleaning actually does, which is remove what is in the top layer.

When a mattress is past it

Deep urine contamination that has soaked through into the core is usually not recoverable, and we will say so rather than take your money for a treatment that will not hold. Same with a mattress that has broken down structurally — cleaning does not restore support.

Frequently asked questions

How long until I can sleep on it?

Plan on the rest of the day. It needs to be fully dry before it goes back into use, and airflow in the room speeds that up considerably.

Will it get rid of the smell?

If the odour is in the top layer, usually. If something soaked through into the core, often not, and we will tell you which one we think you have.

How often should a mattress be done?

Every year or two for most people. Sooner if there has been an accident or if nobody has ever done it.

Do I need to do the box spring too?

Usually not. Contamination that reached the box spring is a different conversation and we will have it with you at the walkthrough.
