What is actually happening
This is why deodorisers do nothing that lasts. Perfume addresses your perception for a few days while the source keeps producing, and most of those products are sticky by design, so they leave residue holding soil on top of a problem that is still there. Enzymes are a different category: biological agents that digest the organic material producing the odour, which needs contact time, moisture and volume. A light surface mist evaporates before it can act.
How you prevent it
Map it with UV before any water goes down, then flood the area with enzyme in enough volume to reach the depth the urine reached and extract until the recovery water runs clear. Spiker injects at around 700 to 800 PSI to saturate the pad and subfloor. It is an attempt: we never guarantee a result on pet urine, and the complete fix is replacing the pad and sealing the subfloor, which Spiker does not do.
